As we head into week six we are excited to have spoons back in our utensil rotation. The challenge this week is going to be tough for sure. We are giving up the use of our blow dryer.
Now you may think this challenge is unfair because it is more difficult for one of us and you would be correct. Confession time: Joshua uses a blow dryer every morning after his shower to keep his beard manageable. It hastens dry time and helps him keep his morning routine short and quick.
Without the blow dryer his beard either gets ridiculously frizzy, or he has to spend time with a comb and towel to get the beard to dry in some type of manageable fashion. Joshua loves growing a beard, but one of the rules is that he has to keep it looking trim and professional. He uses a blow dryer and razor keep it acceptable for his job. He is going to be rocking the more rugged look in the office this week.
Bethany uses the blow dryer as well, but it is possible for her to throw some mousse in her hair or put it in a cute ponytail if she is running short of time. She will definitely miss the blow dryer this week, but this may be the perfect opportunity for her to try a new hairstyle.
This week without will be a challenge for both of us. Our blow dryer is a convenience that really helps with our morning routines. It helps us get ready faster and make it out the door on time for work.
Giving up the blow dryer won’t be the end of the world. We know we will both survive. But going without this week will push us out of our comfort zone and force us to get a little more creative with our traditional morning routine.
Feel free to join us this week in giving up our blow dryer. It is a great opportunity to try something new. And if your hair or beard ends up looking a little more bedraggled, feel free to blame us or the challenge. But you never know, this could be the thing that helps you find your new hairstyle. Please let us know if you do join us this week. We would love to cheer you on!
Also, be on the look out for our week 7 challenge. It is going to be the big challenge of the month. You won’t want to miss it.
